I’m happy to give 5 stars for each category - food, service, and atmosphere! After visiting Rome and being spoiled by the food there, it’s kind of hard to find a local Italian restaurant that can come close to it. This restaurant did not disappoint! The space is really cute and the food was amazing! The owner was very personable and welcoming and his staff provided good service. I’m glad we found this gem in the heart of Bergenline. I highly recommend giving them a try. And once you’re done eating, you can burn off some calories and walk to the park nearby with beautiful views of Manhattan. I will definitely return!
It is the most beautiful and elegant restaurant in all of North Bergen. I had the best Chicken Marsala in my life, the attention was second to none, I strongly recommend it. !!!
The food was amazing. The host was a gentleman. I wish I lived closer so I could frequent this place regularly. It’s a shame. Only five is as high as we can go.
Came for my birthday with my wife and had such a great time! We were originally thinking about going into NYC for an italian dinner but so glad we decided to stay in NJ. I normally don't write reviews but the service I received from the owner, Marcelo, was truly special and will be a time I will remember for a very long time. Food was great, drinks were great, dessert was great and loved every minute of our time at this restaurant. A all around. My wife and I like to go check out new restaurants whenever we have time but the service we received here was next level and got to really enjoy talking with the owner to end the night. My wife and I really felt like we got to experience Italy again in this local NJ restaurant. Thank you for such a beautiful time, Marcelo and staff! We will definitely come back again the next time we're craving a true Italian meal! You made our night!
First time at this restaurant celebrating my nieces baptism. We had the family style dinner and they did not disappoint. What a great Italian Restaurant up in this Bergenline area thats known for more hispanic cuisine. My family and I love Italian food and the food here was absolutely delicious!!!!! I wish my stomach could hold more food because I wanted to eat more, but I was so stuffed! For appetizers, we had the bruschetta, caprese, cesar salad and calamari. All came out fresh and so flavorful. Dinner plates were the carbonara, lemon chicken, chicken parm, and salmon. Not one dish was under seasoned. Everything had such great flavor and cooked to perfection. I recommend it aaaaaallll!!!! so so so delicious (my mouth is watering now thinking back to dinner time) Their service was great. They were all so super sweet and attentive. They always made sure we were good they kept up with finished plates and drinks that needed refills. The table never felt crowded. The place is so beautifully decorated and we were able to take such nice pictures. I will definitely be back with my friends and family when we're looking to eat some delicious Italian Cuisine. I prefer this restaurant over Olive Garden hands down!
I am usually not the type to write a review but for the owner of Gallo Nero ( Marcello ) I will . First off I want to thank Marcello for all his kindness and hard work he pulled off with his chef for 50 plus people! The food was amazing . The experience was great !!! I had a small civil order wedding with all my close friends and family. For a small great private event it was definitely worth it !!! His restaurant was beautifully decorated already which caught our attention! As you could see Marcello was very attentive in all aspects of the night , he shows lots of love and dedication. 1000% I recommend Thanks for everything !!
Mama Mia!!!! Phenomenal is the only word I can think of to describe my experience at Gallo Nero last night. Marcello the owner of this authentic italian restaurant was amazing. We drove an hour to visit his restaurant for the first time last night as an early Valentines Dinner and it was worth it. Please please dine here - not only is the food incredible (i had the phenomenal gnocchi) , but the service, decor and homey atmosphere... wow. We will definitely be back no matter the distance.
Where do I even begin!!! My family had the pleasure of throwing me my baby shower in such a beautiful space. I have never seen the place before, so walking in for the first time took my breathe away. It’s a beautifully elegant cozy space. Once I walked into the back room I was brought to tears. The space on its own was beautiful. Before the party even started the staff made me feel so special. Making sure my husband and I were comfortable and happy. Carlos made sure my husband’s glass of wine was never empty!! Service was beyond 5 star. The FOOD! INCREDIBLE! Great variety of classic Italian dishes that were delicious. Marcelo and Carlos even came around with more food to make sure everyone’s plates were full. Marcelo, you have created such a special place in Nortb Bergen. I’m so happy to have celebrated in such an amazing restaurant. Thank you!!!!
